Christmas

Have I ever told you that Christmas is my favorite holiday? No?! Well it is, and here are the reasons.

1. Family time

2. Traditions,
My family has so many traditions its crazy. One of my favorite ones is every year we get a new pair of PJ's and last year my mom made them all, here is what they looked like.

Aww don't we look so cute!! I think we do!

3. The food!!
At my house Chirstmas is the biggest holiday, and my mom goes all out.
This year however I am excited to spend it with my wonderful husband and start our own traditions.

4. The spirit of giving is in the air.
I don't know what it is but there is always a different air about when Christmas comes around. Everyone all of a sudden gets in a giving mood.

5. I get to bake.
I love to cook, and I love to cook for other people, and create new treats, sometimes they don't turn out the best but I always try my best.

6. The Tree.
I love decorating the tree, you get to see all your favorite ornaments again, and all these memories come flooding back to you of Christmas's past.

I love the tree Matthew and I have decorated. One of Matthews traditions is to put all of your christmas cards on the tree till Christmas day, and then you open them, so that is what we have done with our tree. And any small presents that can fit on the tree. At first I thought it was weird, but I like it, it gives something fun to the tree.

That gives you a small taste at what happens during Christmas time at the Bitter house hold.

Christmas Is......

....Right around the corner. What happened!?!

It seems as though it is here sooooo fast, to me it doesn't really feel like Christmas, yes I am listening to Christmas music, yes I made presents, and I am going to make cookies tomorrow, it still just doesn't feel like Christmas.

Maybe because it will be the first year without my family, but I have Matthew, and he is my family.

Maybe it is the sadness I feel for my lost child, I was suppose to be 4 moths pregnant, but I am not, and people tell me that it is in the past, but its still so right here in front of me. While at the hospital on wednesday I woke up from the surgery crying, I told the nurse I wasn't in pain, that I was crying because of something else, I was crying because I had to lose my child to have the surgery. And I am so thankful that I was able to have it, I just wish the circumstances behind it weren't so sad.

Right now we are celebrating families and the Love the Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father show us, and it is so hard because my family was taken from me. But at the same time I am so thankful for the growing opportunity's it has given me. My testimony has grown so much.

This Christmas I am thanking my Heavenly Father for the sealing power and he gift to me to be a mother, maybe not right now, but in the future.

Christmas to me isn't about presents, yes they are nice to give and receive, but Christmas to me is about the family, and family time, its about making memories.

My Grandmother came over today and gave us our presents, and my mother sent us a package. In the package was a box of my ornaments, I immediately put them on the tree. As Matthew and I stood back and looked at our lovely tree, he made the comments that he never would have thought that our tree would ever have this many presents underneath it.

I love our tree!!

I was able to finish Matthews stocking before Christmas, which I was super happy about, because I had so much going on I was worried it wouldn't get done, but here it is!

I put Dad on it, that way once we have kids I don't need to make a new one. Next year I will make a new one for me that says Mom, instead of Heather.

I am excited for Matthew to see the wonderful things I have made him, and I can't wait to see his reaction.

Have a wonderful night!!

They Are Gone!!

Last Wednesday I had my most wonderful tonsils removed!! (So happy)

Matthew said that when the doctor came out to talk with him, the doctor said that I had the worst tonsils he has ever seen and that I should have had them removed years ago. He was surprised that I have lived with them that way for so long, he said I must have been in a lot of pain. (Which I was)

He also said that I had over 30 tonsil stones on each tonsil.
A tonsil stone is what forms when white blood cells mix with bacteria. Its very normal to have one or two of these on your tonsils every once and a while, well I would get 10+ a day, three days before the surgery I removed 18 from just one tonsil. They taste disgusting and make your breathe stink, I wasn't that surprised I had that many because I knew it was bad.

He also said that I had a lots of little buts a food in the tonsils because my "craters" were so deep, gross right?

Well all went well, the IV went in nicely, it only hurt when they had me put my hands at my sides so they could strap me to the table. And the nurse who pulled it out did a wonderful job and I didn't feel it at all!! Which was amazing because when I had my last IV I had a huge bruise and it hurt for weeks afterwards.

Needless to say I woke up after surgery talking my head off and telling the nurse a lot more then she needed to know. But I can't remember anything she said, but I hope I made her day.

At the hospital they told me to only eat soft and cool things, on the way home we stopped by taco bell and got bean burritos with extra cheese and hot sauce, I haven't really fallowed any of their guild-lines besides eating yogurt, but mt throat feels wonderful and I am happy that they are no longer in me.

My grandmother is very happy that they are out, she says that I am already a happy person, but she could tell when I wasn't doing well because of my tonsils and now thinks that I will be an even happier person because my body will no longer be fighting the virus that was in me.

There is a quick update on the life of Heather Bitter, til the next post.

Christmas Spirit

My husband showed this video to me a couple days ago, and I have to share it with you.

If this song doesn't put you in the Christmas spirit, I don't know what will.

Absurd Obsession!

You all know my absurd obsession with books right? You don't!! I am shocked!!

Well I have a slight absurd obsession with books, the biggest reason for this is I love the adventures that come alive in books. My mother taught me to love books and reading, I have many friends who were pushed into reading and now they hate it. I love it!!

My mother never pushed me, or if she did it was very little, which I was very glad by, it taught me to seek out my own education, and many things I wouldn't like if you did push me. She always encouraged me do new things and to study.

Well now that I have moved to a new city I have been wanting to get a library card. I believe you don't need to go to school to get an education, you can go to your library and read. That is how Tomas Jefferson got his, George Washington and very little education, but he was willing to learn, and if he didn't know something then he would find a book on it.

I was talking with my hubby today about education and wanting a library card, he said "When you finish the books you already have, that is when you can get a library card." Challenge accepted!! I will keep you posted with the books I read and how many I have left for that library card!!

Pictures From Our Wedding!!

Here are some of the pictures that my aunt took at the wedding.

My little sister

The wedding party + friends

This I think is one of my favorite photos!!

I love my mother so much, and this photo shows our relationship perfectly!

My lovely bridesmaids!!

I love how the temple looks in the back, I am so happy we got sealed here!

The centerpieces at the reception!

One of my favorite people in the ward, my grandmother!!

My sister and I are super close, so we did a special dance just for the two of us.

I am Thankful for....

...The chance I had to carry a baby for a short period of time. That's right, I miscarried.

The baby died at 10 weeks, and we didn't find out till I was 12 weeks a long. It looks like the baby's heart didn't form properly and the baby died of a heart attack, it is very sad and we morn his passing. But I know it was meant to be this way.

Instead of blaming God, I am rejoicing in the time I had with the baby, I am rejoicing in the fact that the baby was taken before the baby came to the earth, that the spirit doesn't have to be trapped in a broken body. I am thankful that that spirit has a second chance to join this world.

I keep asking God what He wants me to learn. What He wants me to take from this. I believe there is no use blaming God and filling your heart with anger, when you can turn to Him and thank Him for the time you did have.

This trial has made Matthew and I closer as a family, and I know it has made my testimony grow so much.
I am also thankful for the out pouring of love that we have received from both Matthew's job and mine. The love we have received from teachers and friends.

As I was on my way to work today I was thinking about service and how great we have received, and it made me stop and think that maybe this was given to us as a opportunity for some else in need who needed someone to serve. Maybe our trial and hardship was a answer to someones else's prayers.

I am sad I won't lie, but having the gospel in my life has made it 10xs easier.
I Love the Lord and all He has done for me. I couldn't thank Him enough.

I love my husband and the love he has shown me through our trials. Everything will work out, if we trust in the Lord and fallow what he says. Amen

Popeye the Sailor Man!! (toot, toot)

I was reading the book Anne Frank (which I will talk about later) and she said something like "I am going to eat so much spinach I'm going to be like Popeye."

That took me back because I thought that Popeye was created in the '50s. My curiosity got the best of me and I stopped reading and got to work looking up information about Popeye. Here is what I found:
  • The comic was called Thimble Theater
  • Popeye wasn't the original main character, it was written about Olive Oil and her boyfriend Harold Hamgravy
  • Popeye didn't appear till it't tenth year, and only as a minor character, but was loved so much the strip was eventually named after him
  • In the comic Popeye is Swee'Pea ward, but in the cartoons he loves Olive Oil, and Swee'Pea never shows up
  • Popeye was created in the '30s, it was shown in one newspaper called New York Journal, and soon spread to many other newspapers.
  • The artist and creator of the comic was E.C. Segar, after his death the comic was passed to his assistant Bud Seganduf.
  • Many (a little less then half) of the original characters never appeared in the cartoon, and the comics were more complex and had a lot more detail then the cartoon.

I grew up watching Popeye on my grandmothers T.V. when I would visit for the summer. I would recommand that you find it somewhere and watch it, you haven't lived till you have seen Popeye!!

Well Guys...

I'm Pregnant!!

I have known for the past 3 weeks, but I didn't want to tell anyone till we went to the doctors. Which we did on Monday.

It was so cool, when we did the ultra sound we got to see the baby and hear its heartbeat, I watched Matthew the whole time because I wan't to see what his reaction would be. He just smiled the whole time, he was so happy.

I knew that I am pregnant yes, but did it sink in? Not till I saw that baby on Monday. Its so amazing!!

With pregnancy come four things (well more then three, but only three I want to talk about right now.):

1. Tiredness
2. Cravings
3. Morning Sickness
4. Bathroom Breaks

Lets talk about number one:
Tiredness

Let me just tell you that I thought I was always tired before, no, now I am super tired and could sleep anywhere and on anything. Last week I fell asleep with my head on a shelf at the store. It is crazy how tired you become, you will be able to sleep through the night and through the whole day, stay up for a couple hours, and then you are out again. The little things tire you that didn't before, like making the bed, folding laundry, eating, blogging (yes I am falling asleep right now.)

Cravings:

You will have the randomest cravings for the weirdest stuff, like fries, rice, milk, a sandwich with spinach, cheese, and tartar sauce. Or a hotdog with BBQ sauce. They come and go all the time, like today, I ate spaghettios while I waited for my donut holes to cook and a pot of rice, because I was craving all of them at once. Its ridiculous, my husband is so kind and if I am craving something he will go out of his way to get it for me, he is such a sweetie! Love him!!

Yesterday I was at Chick-fil-a because that is where Matthew works, and I go there after I am done with my job to wait for Matthew. Anyway, I was craving fries, so I ordered a large fry, well in the Latino culture if you are craving something you get it and eat it because they don't want you to lose the baby, well the kitchen staff are friends with my husband, and he told them that the lard fry was for me, and they dumped out the fries they were going to give me and made fresh hot ones and stuffed that container as much as hey could. They are so sweet, and they always come out to see me and see how I am doing, its so cool.

Morning Sickness:

Pray that you don't get this, it is horrible!! Some women get it and some don't, I don't have it as bad as some people I know, but its still not fun. Some mornings are worse than others, like yesterday I was a little sick but not really, but today I was so sick I didn't go to either work, and just layed in bed till just a couple hours ago, because if I moved I thought I was going to have a date with the bathroom. At night it is the best, which is good because the place I work at the most is at night.

Bathroom Breaks:

I don't think I have ever gone to the bathroom more times in one day than I have in my whole life!! Its ridiculous how much you have to go, and how often. Some days its good and I only have to go once every couple of hours, but other days, I am in there every 30 minutes.

Well thats some info for you about being pregnant, I have more to come, but I have to go take a nap, can't stay awake, ttyl!!

Recipes

I noticed that of late I have posted a lot of recipes, but I think this because I now have someone to cook for and I'm excited to cook, and I am even more excited when it tastes good, I have this huge worry that I will make something and it won't taste good.

Well the other day I was in a very bad mood, and my number one comfort food is Tuna Casserole, and it just so happened that it was scheduled to be for dinner that night.

This is my families go to meal if we are hungry and didn't really plan anything else. My little sister at the age of 6 was making this, with little help from her older siblings, it is very easy and the skill level is little to nothing.

Here is what you will need:

One bag egg noodles
Two cans Cream of Mushroom (I use cream of chicken)
Milk (enough to fill the two empty cans)
Two cans Tuna (if you don't like tuna, you can use one can of the chicken breasts)
Cheese
Bread Crumbs
Italian seasoning
salt

-Cook your noodles according to the directions on the bag

-While those are cooking take a 9x13 pan and put the tuna, cream of mushroom, milk, and cheese. Mix it till it is well combined.

-After the noodles are done cooking and drained, mix them into the cream of mushroom mixture. Mix till all the noodles are coated. Sprinkle more cheese on top, sprinkle bread crumbs and italian seasoning.

-But in a preheated oven at 350 degrees for 20 minutes or until it s bubbly. Take out, let cool slightly and enjoy!!

I made this one time at my apartment in Salt Lake, and I came home from church and my roommates had eaten half of it. Needless to say its good!

Chicken Gravy and Mashed Potatos

At the beginning of the week Matthew and I sit down and discuss what we are going to eat for the next two weeks and get food accordingly, that way we always have a plan, and aren't wondering what we are going to eat day by day.

Well tonight on the calendar it said "Chicken and mashed Taters"  I know how to make mashed potatoes, that wasn't  problem, it was trying to figure out what to do with the chicken, yeah i could have breaded it, but I didn't have any breadcrumbs, I thought of fried chicken, but I don't know how to make that, my mom suggested italian chicken (I will give you that recipe later) but that wouldn't taste good with mashed taters and gravy. My mom though told me to do this, and this is what I did:

-Take as much chicken as you want (I used one breast)
Make sure it is thawed and put in two plastic baggies, and beat with a meat tenderizer, wooden spoon, or anything else you can find to beat it, make sure you don't break it, you just want it as flat as possible.

-Put into a skillet and put 1/4 of an onion kinda thinly sliced with the chicken, put 3 tablespoons butter, salt, pepper, and garlic on top. Add 1/4-1/2 cup water. Let cook all the way through and flip once. Once I thought it was all the way cooked through I cut it into thirds just to make sure, don't over cook it by making it dry. Let the water boil off and crisp chicken and onions till your liking.

-In a saucepan bring 2 cups water and 3 tablespoons chicken bouillon to a boil. Add chicken and onion from skillet, let sit 5 minutes.

-Take chicken out and shred or chunk.

-Add back to saucepan, add one can of cream of chicken soup, and 4 more cups of water, stir till the cream of chicken is combined, let simmer for 7-10 minutes.

-Add three tablespoons cornstarch and enough water to make the cornstarch not thick but not runny. Mix well in a bowl before adding to the gravy. Add to the gravy stirring the whole time and add till its to your liking of gravy. let simmer 2 minutes, taste and add any other seasons.

Cooking Note: I always flavor it more after I have added the cornstarch, because it mutes your flavors just slightly. And its hard to judge what it will really taste like before the cornstarch.

     Your gravy is now done!!!

It tasted amazing!! I am not a big chicken person, and was worried about the chicken being dry, but it was very tender and most. I ate a lot of it, I may have to make more taters because I made a lot of gravy.

Better then Sex.....

.....Cake!!

At my bridal shower my cousin gave me the recipe and ingedents to Better Than Sex Cake, I have been putting off making it because one, I didn't have vegetable oil, and two, I didn't have the time. Well today I made it and let me just say Matthew and I ate half of it in one sitting and drank 1/4 of a gallon of milk.

Here is how it is made

Take:
1 devils food box cake
1 can sweetened condensed milk
1 hershey's caramel sauce
1 bag toffee chips
Whipped cream

Make and cook cake as directed in a 9x13 pan.
Take out and cool slightly, poke cake with the end of a wooden spoon. Pour sweetened condensed milk over cake, make sure that it goes in the holes. Then cover with caramel sauce, sprinkle toffee chips over the top of the cake and let cook.
Serve with whipped cream and a tall glass of milk.

Serves 2 (believe me, once you try it, you won't want to share it.)

Nutella......

I was in search of a homemade Nutella recipe, I have been craving it and I wanted to price homemade vs store bought.

Here is the recipe that I found.

INGREDIENTS:

2 cups (8 ounces) hazelnuts
1 cup powdered sugar
⅓ cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder
2 tablespoons hazelnut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
⅛ teaspoon salt

DIRECTIONS:

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spread the hazelnuts out on a single layer on a rimmed baking sheet and roast until dark brown and fragrant, 12 to 15 minutes, rotating the baking sheet halfway through baking. Keep a close eye on them, as they can go from perfect roasted to burnt in a short amount of time. Transfer the hazelnuts to a medium-sized bowl.
2. Once the hazelnuts are cool enough to handle, place a second bowl upside-down on top of the bowl with the hazelnuts. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds to remove the skins of the hazelnuts. It may take a few times to get all of the skins off; each time, remove the hazelnuts that have lost their skin to the bowl of a food processor, then continue shaking.
3. Process the hazelnuts in a food processor until their oil is released and they form a smooth, loose paste, 2 to 5 minutes, scraping down the bowl often.
4. Add the powdered sugar, cocoa powder, hazelnut oil, vanilla extract and salt and process until fully incorporated, scraping the bowl as needed, about 2 minutes. The mixture will loosen and become glossy. Transfer the spread to a jar with a tight-fitting lid or an airtight container. You can store it in the refrigerator or at room temperature for up to 1 month.
Notes:
  • If you want to do away with having to remove the hazelnut skins, you could purchase blanched hazelnuts, which I might try next time.
  • I was not able to find hazelnut oil at any local grocery stores (including Whole Foods), so I ended up ordering it from Nuts.com. You could substitute walnut oil or vegetable oil, but the hazelnut oil really helps give the spread a silky smooth texture.
  • You can substitute regular unsweetened cocoa powder for the Dutch-processed cocoa powder.

This recipe was found on a blog called http://www.browneyedbaker.com/ It is sooo cute and she has some other amazing recipes and I can't wait to try.

I can't wait to get baking!

Cream of Mushroom and Rice Soup

Today I made a super yummy soup!! I wanted to use up some of the leftovers in the fridge so here is what I came up with.

Cream of Mushroom and Rice Soup.

2 can cream of mushroom
1 can green beans
1 can corn
4-6 cups milk
8 oz bag of broccoli cuts
3 cups cooked white rice
salt
garlic powder
onion powder
pepper

Put everything but the salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper, into a crock pot, mix well. Add milk, thin to your liking. Add as much as you think is necessary of the seasonings. (Matthew said that next time I should put the onion in it, he said it was to strong, I couldn't taste it)

Let it cook for three hours.

When hot, and broccoli is done, serve with cheese and bacon.

Serves 6-8

More "Little" things!

I love Matthew, he is my best friend. And I am soo happy and glad that I met him and I am able to get sealed to him for time and all eternity, it is sooo exciting yet so scary.
I just moved to Utah in April, and then I get a Boy Friend a month after I move here and then I am engaged and getting married two weeks after that?! Crazy I know!!

But I have prayed about this, and I know God sent me to Utah to find Matthew, neither of us are perfect, but we both know we were made for eachother, and life looks 10xs better when he is standing at my side. We are apart right now, he is in Ogden and I am in Holiday, thankfully we were able to see each other today, but neither one of us wanted to let the other one go.

My day is already better when I hear is voice over the phone, I know I am acting like a teenage romance right now, but I have to just tell you how much I love him.

As the quote goes.

"We go together like...
Jelly and Peanut butter,
Milk and Cookies
Cheese and Sprinkles
Fork and Spoon"

I don't know the actual quote, I kinda made this one up.

I thank everyday for this amazing man that God put into my life.

This quote got me thinking, I found it on pinterest, and it was a tad unsettling to me.

"Think how different your life would be if you've never met the person who changed everything."

I never thought of my life without Matthew till I read this, and then I never wanted to think of it again, he is everything to me, and I wouldn't be where I am today with out him. I love him soo much!!!
Once you find the person you are meant to be with you will understand what I am going through and how wonderful it is.

Little Things on my mind....

... Well really they are big things.

Today I went to the ENT doctor to see what is wrong with my ears and throat. Well two or so weeks ago I found out that my tonsils are infected and causing my body to be sick a lot. And when I was younger I thought I got earaches and sore throats, well it was actually repeated tonsillitis and it caused a permanent infection in my tonsils.

I get about two really bad earaches, and almost daily my ears hurt, well this is part of the infection, along with really bad breath and headaches, dizziness. Needless to say I should have had my tonsils out years ago. But didn't, sooo now I am going to have them taken out two to three weeks after my wedding. I am really scared, I don't like doctors, and I don't like people touching me. Oh well I will deal.

The doctor told me that by getting my tonsils out, I shouldn't get another sore throat, and I shouldn't be getting anymore earaches. He said that they were swollen and that that was odd, and it was causing my ears to hurt. I am super excited to get rid of these stupid earaches.

I found it very interesting, someone said that they were really happy that I was getting them out because I am bubbly but she can tel when I am not feeling good even when I try to play it off, and said that I will be 20xs more energetic and alive after this surgery.

I didn't realize till now how sick I really am, and how often I am sick, I can't wait to feel better!!

Marriage

As I was on pinterest, I was looking up quotes and wedding stuff because as you may not know I am getting married. I will tell you more about that later.

Anyway, Matthew and I have committed ourselves to finding lists and asking questions, and while that was on my mind I found this article that asked a lit of questions that we never thought about. It also asked questions that we won't need to talk about for many years. But it is something to think about.

Before Matthew and I were even together we had a list of almost 200 questions that we asked each other, and we got to know each other quite well, it was a great bonding moment. You might want to do the same.

http://zachterry.wordpress.com/2009/10/07/50-questions-to-ask-your-spouse-on-a-date-night/

I think that the these would be good to ask if you ever feel detached from your spouse and want to reconnect. I am no expert because I am not even married yet, but this is just food for thought.

Now on to the topic of Matthew and I.
Matthew and I met on the 7th of May, became a couple on the 19th of May.
He proposed on June 4th, we are getting married on August 20th. It will 105 days from the day we met to the day we get married exactly.

Here are some of our engagement.

When Matthew and I first met he took me downtown to a little fabric shop called Tissue Fine Fabrics, it was rather funny because the owner (who is a good friend of Matthews) asked how long we had been together, we just gave each other a funny look and said that would never happen.

Teresa (the owner) let us take our engagement photos in her fabric shop because it is where we had our first outing (it wasn't a date) It was pretty darn cool to o, and very different from all other engagement photos I have seen.

Last week Matthew and I had some time to kill before I needed to go to work, so we stopped by temple square and took some pictures (we want to do a slide show at the wedding, but have no photos of us together, so we try to take some every time we are together.)

It was a lot of fun!!
It rather funny, because when we are together he goofs off but if other people are there he becomes shy and doesn't goof off as much, but I still love him!

College!!

So I am in Sunny Utah right now, just moved here from SoCal. Its been a good change for me.  Nice weather feels like home.... well a tad less humid, but stil nice and warm.

Here are some dish rags I made before I left, so far I have only used one of them.

The dishes I bought with my birthday money.

Pot holders my grandma made me for my birthday.

After moving here, my sister and I want on an adventure around SL.

New Adventures

I moved to Utah a little over a month ago.

Well here is the super exciting news, on the 7th of may I went to a class with my roommate. After class I was hanging with a friend who one introducing me to a lot of people, and of which was Mathew.

Mathew commented on my skirt (which I made) I said I run my own buisness which guess what? He runs his own too! We swapped business cards. We got to talking and we realized we have a lot in common.

After talking for an hour we decided to go for a walk to a local fabric store called Tissue Paper, super cute! Love the store!!

His friend (the owner) asked if we were together, be both shook our heads and said no, that we had just met.

Well a lot of face booking, stalking, talking, and hanging out, led to him asking me out on a date, and two days later to asking me to be his Girl friend. You need to understand that we had known each other for 10 days, but I couldn't say no to this boy.

He is amazing, and I am so glad that we have found each other.

The fallowing Wednesday we planned to go hiking.

Here are some pictures of that trip.

(And if you are wondering, no we didn't make it to the top, I got altitude sickness, and well....we will leave it at that :D)

This is at the half way point.

I think we are the cutest couple ever!!

I am very excited for the many adventures to come!!

The Art of Stitching.

Some years ago my mother stared a Mother Daughter quilting club, we started off by just learning the basics, and then we went on to the design, layout and size of whatever we were going to make.

I have been working on my blocks for awhile and I have learned a lot, and I always do it with my mom.

Quitling has been such a cool thing to do, and my quitling is all hand done and it is recreates of Civil War quilts.
This is the book:

Each quilt block has its own store to go with it, it is really cool to see how the woman delt with the war, and to see what life would have been like living through it.

These are the blocks I did over the weekend (april 5-7), the one on the right was already half way done, and the one on the left was already cut out, it just needed to be sewn. Some people think I am crazy, but I enjoy it soo much, and my mother and I have turned it into a tradition.

These are the blocks I have made over the years, I have 26 blocks, I just need to decide what I am going to make. I was going to make a quilt, but I think it will get to warn. SoI am thinking of doing it as a wall hangings. I think one big one and then a couple small ones. So I can put them in frames and make them last longer.

Hope you enjoyed this post, I have anothere one soon to fallow.

Its Got Pockets!!!!

Hello, you are probably sitting there wondering if I ever opened my sewing machine, well I did, and I made something too. I new purse!! But first I will talk of my sewing machine and then I will touch on the purse.

     Here she is!! (sigh)

She is a Singer 5400, she has 60 different stiches, and I thought I would never use them, but I needed to get my tension right, and the oil out of it. So I got a scrap of fabric and spent a good about of time with my sister sewing random stiches, it was fun!!

Here is the purse I made!!
Soo cool! I am going to make  a flower or a bow to go on the flap, I think it needs that extra touch. I have some ideas for my next purse too.

I put pockets in this one, because I was tired of having to dig for myphone and gum.
I wanted to try someting new with the pockeets and overlap them it wasnt hard. But I thought I would show you how I did it.

1. I cut the pockets out a little bigger then I wantedd to make room for the seams
2. I sewed them inside out and then turned them rightside out.

3. Becasue there was a small hole from turning them, I ironed and and topstiches just theat egde, this is going to be the top of your pocket

4. You are going to sew the pockets together where they over lap.

5. Next you are going to sew the back pocket to the linning.

6. You are going to sew the top pocket to the linning.

TA DA!!! YOur pockets are done!!

I have already gotten a lot of compliments on the is bag, even though I just made it. it was fun to make.

I tried putting a devider in it, but the bag is to small for that, and while trying to figure out how to made it, I sewed it inside out a couple times, but thats ok. thats what come with the fin of sewing!!

Till the next project!!
