Painters

Since I have a new found love of watercolors and painting, I have also found a new love for painters. I was on pinterest looking at the art when I found this painting:
I love it!!
Mybe its my love of shakespeare that plays into the whole things, but I just want this painting!!

The Shrine

The painters name is John William Waterhouse
A little History on him:
Born: in 1849 (not sure what date, but between January and April)
Died: 10 February 1917
He was known as "the modern Pre-Raphaelite"
He liked to paint woman set in Greek Mythology and Arthurian legend.

He liked to go against the painting fashion of the time. He was born in Rome, but moved to London with his perents who also were painters.

The reason why he had taken on the name of "the mordern Pre-Raphealite" is because they had just gotten over the Pre-Raphaelite area, yet he was still trying to keep it going. He wasnt really well known because ohis style was frowned on.

I think is work is beautiful and I am glad he stuck with it, when others told him not to.
Here are some of my fovorite paintings by him:

 The Flower Picker

Juliet

Ophelia

Lady of Shalott
