Its Got Pockets!!!!

  Hello, you are probably sitting there wondering if I ever opened my sewing machine, well I did, and I made something too. I new purse!! But first I will talk of my sewing machine and then I will touch on the purse.

     Here she is!! (sigh)

  She is a Singer 5400, she has 60 different stiches, and I thought I would never use them, but I needed to get my tension right, and the oil out of it. So I got a scrap of fabric and spent a good about of time with my sister sewing random stiches, it was fun!!

 

Here is the purse I made!!

Soo cool! I am going to make  a flower or a bow to go on the flap, I think it needs that extra touch. I have some ideas for my next purse too.

 

I put pockets in this one, because I was tired of having to dig for myphone and gum.

I wanted to try someting new with the pockeets and overlap them it wasnt hard. But I thought I would show you how I did it.

 

1. I cut the pockets out a little bigger then I wantedd to make room for the seams

2. I sewed them inside out and then turned them rightside out.

 

3. Becasue there was a small hole from turning them, I ironed and and topstiches just theat egde, this is going to be the top of your pocket

 

 

4. You are going to sew the pockets together where they over lap.

5. Next you are going to sew the back pocket to the linning.

 

6. You are going to sew the top pocket to the linning.

 

 

 

TA DA!!! YOur pockets are done!!

 

 

I have already gotten a lot of compliments on the is bag, even though I just made it. it was fun to make.

 

I tried putting a devider in it, but the bag is to small for that, and while trying to figure out how to made it, I sewed it inside out a couple times, but thats ok. thats what come with the fin of sewing!!

Sewing!!

   You know from my last post that my mommy got me the bestest birthday present ever, well it was a new sewing machine! I am sooo excited!!

   I haven't opened it yet, but that will come tomorrow when I finish some projects I have started that I HAVE to finish before I leave for Utah (if you are confused by this statement, don't worry it will be in the next post.), and I have had the projects eating at the back of my creative juices waiting to burst forth and bring happienss to me and others!

     Here she is!! I just realized I have yet to name her!! Oh no.... what should I name her?

   (Turns out my internet isnt working right and you will have to see her tomorrow when I take a picture!) (Sorry!!)

   Oh my goodness I am sooooooo excited!!!!!!! I was very shocked when my mom asked me to pick a machine, I just stood there and was dumb founded!  I just couldn't believe it!!

   Today I spent my afternoon cleaning my room, but my sad Avengers bag is falling apart, and I have this idea in my head but I can't sew it till after I get my room cleaned and its driving me insane!!

     But I will open her tomorrow and sew till my fingers bleed and then some!!

    I will tell you of the sad passing of my last machine, he was a Brother, and I had him for atleast 5 years (I am trying to remeber what year in high school I got him, but I can't :( ), and then one day I was sewing away on him and he started smoking! and sounding funny! So I had to stop, it has been a good 6months since I have had my own sewing machine, and lets just say a sewing machine is a crafty girls best friend!!

I'm 20!!

   That't right guys my birthday was 2 weeks ago, and being the lame blogger that I am, I didn't say anything about it. But that is because I got asked to help back stage for the play my brother was in/I have been super lazy and didn't not blogged for awhile, but I am comminted to blog once a day!! I miss you guys!!

     I will tell you all about my grand adventures!!

  The week of the 17th I spent it at work, my aunt's house, and at play practice. It wasnt very excited, on the 23rd was a prformance, but it was an early one, so we went to dinner afterwards with my grandma and grandpa to the Macaroni Grill. It was good!! I got a blood orange Italian soda, and chicken paresan. It was a good day followed by a lot of sleep.

  The following Saturday (30th) was my actual party. On friday the day before my mother and I went shopping and she got me the coolest birthday present ever!! I will keep what I got a secret!! Its being held for a later post!! MAuahahahahahah!!!!!!!!!

  Ok back to my birthday! The sadest thing about my birthday is.... I didn't take any pictures!! How lame am I!?!?! I can't belive I didn't take atleast take one picture!!

    Ugh!! Oh well.... I will live.... Maybe.....

  My mom made this amazing Tre Leche cake! Oh my goodness I ate sooo much of it!!

    Here is the recipe so you can pig out too!!

 

 

Ingredients

• 1/2 cup unsalted butter
• 1 cup sugar
• 5 large eggs
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, divided
• 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1 cup milk
• 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
• 1 (12-ounce) can evaporated milk
• 1 1/2 cups whipping cream
• 1/4 cup powdered sugar

Preparation

1. 1. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease and flour a 13- x 9-inch baking dish.
2. 2. Beat butter and sugar at medium speed with an electric mixer until fluffy; mix in eggs and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla. Combine flour and baking powder; add gradually to butter mixture, stirring to blend. Pour batter into prepared dish, and bake at 350° for 30 minutes or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. Pierce cake with a fork all over.
3. 3. Combine the 3 milks, and pour on top of cake; cool to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate until well chilled, at least 4 hours or overnight.
4. 4. Beat whipping cream, powdered sugar, and remaining vanilla at medium-high speed with an electric mixer until thick; spread over cake, and serve.

  We had my party at a park so we could play volleyball, and tag, we had a water fight, and marshmellow fight, and danced. It was a blast!! The most fun I have had in a long time!!

  Afterwards my guy friends came over and we played magic and hanged out, it was sooo good to hang out with my nerdy friends again and be myself, it felt like a lot time since I had had fun like that!!
