"If Music be the Food of Love play on."

The title of this post is a quote from one of my favorite Shakepeare plays, Twelth Night, or What you will. The play didn't have a name when it was first writen, but it was preformed on the twelth night of December, so the name naturaly came from that. I have preformed in this play twice, once when I was around 9, and the secound time when I was 15.
The first time I was in it, I had four parts, I was a servent in the dukes house, a sailor who got shipped wrecked, a pesent who sold stuff in the street, and last a soldier. It was hard to act all those parts, because it was my first play, and we preformed it in the living room of my friends house. When I did it three years ago I played Maria, who is the handmade to the countess Oliva. She was at the time the hardest part to act, because they guy I had to act in love with, shell I say was a goofball, and we weren't friends, so we played in love on stage, but back stag we didn't talk or even acknowladge the other person even existed.
My favorite thing abou this play was the amount of acting I had in it. The cast was great, and after two preformences I was a lot more comforable with my part and became the best actress in the play.
My greatest learning experince was, learning that your not always going to get the part you want, and you just have to deal with it and try your best, because thats all that really matters. Some people have asked me how I can act and not be nervous, and then when I have to give a talk, or speak infront of a big group of people why I am so nervous, and my reply is, because they are not my words, they are someones eles, and I am mearly quoting them.
Shakespeare was one of the greastest playwrite of all time, and he is one of my greatest hero's, he is a wonderful person who rose against the crowds and became something great.

New Design! New Name!

Your probably wondering why I changed the name of the blog from Kaye's Designs to A Ribbon In My Hair. Well its because I changed the intent of the blog. First this blog was to sell you stuff, but then it turned into "I want to show you who I am." I find beauty in creating things, but also in the beauty around me, and I want to share that with you.

I picked the name A Ribbon In My Hair, because I thought it was cute, and more personal and creative then the other names I came up with, and if I could, I would wear ribbons in my hair everyday.

I also changed the look for the same reason, I felt that the old look was a little crazy, and even though I am a crazy person, I didnt think I needed to make you insane by looking at it.

Hope you enjoy the new look/name.

God Creations!!

I am Christian, and as such I believe in God. But I am not against other Beliefes, infact a have a lot of friends from different beliefes. On Wednesday, the 16th of March, I went over to my best friends house and was able to enjoy God's creation's. It was a great oppertunity to get away from the world and to enjoy the beauty that we so often miss. With the troubles of the world how often to we reflect on the beauty around us? When you live in the city (like I do) you miss the smell of flowers, and nature. And you often dont get to see unsets like the one on the left, because they are blocked by buildings. But oh how beautiful it is, and how wonderful you feel when you do. While I was at my friends, we (my friend and I) decided to go on a 4 1/2ish mile hike. On the edge of her property she has a pond, and our goal was to reach this pond, and we did, it took us around two hours to get there, and a lot of walking in mud, water, and crawling through poison oak. Luckly I didn't break out in any blisters. We had a lot of fun at the pond, we had to cross a small stem of the pond to get to the otherside, and my friend slipped and fell into the water. The hike to the pond was amazing, yes we fell, and yes we got wet, but how much fun would it had been if those things didnt happen to us? Thats the joy and adventure behind everything, the falling into a plant that you don't know what it is, its the joy of finding a rock shaped like a heart, or a squeel of surpise as a toad jumps out of a bush. That is fun and Adveture that my friends and I encountered.
In the pond were 1,000,000's of tadpols, it was amazing how little they were and how many there were. When I first started to pick them up I held my hands above that water, but they would wiggle through my fingers and fall to the water. I thought they were so cute!
Later I helped my friend feed her little farm of animals, my favorite animals to feed were the goats, they were so hungy that they were getting into fights to get the most food. The names are Portia and Augustine. Portia is the one in the picture. Her horse were funny as they ate, moving from food pile to food pile, each one getting its own, but eating each others.
We foundout that my friends horse Dorian, liked me, he didnt want me to pet any of the other horses, and didnt want me to stop petting him, so my friend and I decided that he is my new BF!!
Her Kitty that is expecting kittens, shes so soft and cute!! I love this picture, because I love cats eye's they are so pretty, and I felt like this picture captured the feel of the eye's and the beauty of them.
I love taking pictuers of clouds, they are so pretty, and there are a lot of different kinds. I have almost 50 pictures of snsets and clouds, they are just amazing. I love the different colors they can have, how they can make a sunset 10x as pretty, or how they can shade you from the sun on a hot day. I also love the different looks they can have, from the havy, to the whispy, and to the checkerboard look. There is such a veriaty that you can wow at them all in there own special way.
My friends new doggy Chance, shes such a sweetie, and shes so cute, I love my friends dogs, they are all so cute. I love my friends dogs, she has three. chance is the newst and oldest of the pack, she is nine, but she is kind and loving. She is good with my friends younger sisters, but not so good with my friends other dogs, because she wont stand for their hyperness.
This is a toad that hopped out of the water when we were walking down the stream to the pond. I love how God created animals to blend in so that they can be pretected from harm. You really have to look (at least for me) to see the toad, and when my friend first pointed it out to me, i didnt notice it at all.

My creations!

Here is a skirt I made a couple weeks ago, that I have been meaning to post but I haven't found the time. But I do right now, so here it is. The fabric I found in a box, and I had just enough to make the skirt. My favorite thing about this skirt is the POCKETS!!!!! I hate it when a dress doesn't have pockets. I am sorta a town boy, so I dont like having a purse, and I would reather fit everything into my pockets then have to deal with a purse, enless I am going to the Zoo, or Disneyland, then I bring one. So whenever I make something new, I try to make it with pockets.

Prometheus!!

I have been saving money for almost two years to get a camera, and I'm talking about a professional camera, and I finally got one, here is a picture of him. Now this isn't the original camera, the one I really wanted was 1,000, and it is the canon 50D, but with something that came up I got this one to play arounnd with till I have enough money for the 60D or 70D, because by that time the 50D will be really out of date. Here he is!!! Isn't he handsome? My friends thought I was crazy to name an object, but whatever, I wanted to so i did. I name almost anything, so it wasn't a shocker to my closest freinds and family, but to anyone else it was weird. I was thinking of names for it even before I got it. I was struggling between two names, Fiona and Prometheus, I choose the boy name, it seemed more suitable to me. I just love the name, its so cool, and odd. On Tuesday I took pictures with my sister, and well I filled my memory card up, and I had to delete some of them so I could take more. Here are just a couple of my favorite. My inspiration for this picture is light, I love the sun, it's so pretty and can make the most beautiful pictures. I love using the sun, because it can such a tricky thing, sometimes you don't want the sun because its casting a shadow, but sometimes you want that shadow to make the picture look cooler.
This is my sister, I love this picture, I love how she is looking up it, and not just standing there, it makes it look like (at least to me) that she is learning from the tree. It's just pretty!
I love the colors and the close up of the joints, to me its pretty. I love doing pictures like this, my favorite one is on the post "God's Creation's" I love the cat, shes so pretty. Taking pictures brings me a lot of joy, so I can't wait till I can get a different lens, and be able to do so much more. its going to be AWESOME!!!!!
